FIRE AND WATER / INTERLUDE

Fire and Water is an AU in which Vala succeeded in destroying the Ori Supergate in Beachhead but was able to ring back and therefore never met Tomin or had Adria. It begins with a poetic re-telling of Avalon Part 2 and ends 3 years later with Vala reflecting on the nature of her love for Daniel. Along the way the couple confront their feelings for one another and eventually marry, but never lose the heat and snark that we all love.

Interlude is a loosely interconnected collection of fics set in the same universe as Fire and Water. They were written after the series itself, so I don't include them as part of it. Trust is set while Daniel and Vala were still dating. Linger is set a few months after their marriage, and Best Served Cold jumps to April Fools Day of that year. heh.


REDISCOVERED HEARTS

Rediscovered Hearts is the meat and potatoes around here. It continues the story begun in Fire and Water, and is set in the third year of Daniel and Vala's marriage. It opens with SG-1 being ambushed and captured while trying to gather intel on the Lucian Alliance and ends with a wedding at General Hammond's house. Along the way, Vala pulls out all the stops to rescue Daniel, Dr. Lam learns to see her father and herself differently; Jacob and Martouf return; and Daniel stops at nothing to save his wife and unborn child.

A REDISCOVERED CHRISTMAS

A Rediscovered Christmas is a Christmas series set in the Rediscovered Hearts universe. Hijinx abound when Vala's Santa trap actually works.


TAKING THE LONG WAY

Taking the long way is a new fic series completely unrelated to Rediscovered Hearts. It begins in the week following the events of Morpheus and ends with a kiss. It was intended to remain cannon, but accidentally went AU following Memento Mori. Twist and Lick and More were not included as part of the series for anyone who read them on my personal journal, because I had intended to keep them as cannon one-shots. However, for simplicity's sake, I'm just re-ordering the series a little from my original post since they were the preludes to this series.

Note to readers. I actually did have a logical reason why I thought having them go to the beach would work. I know there's no ocean in Colorado. However, my thought was this :

We don't necessarily know that Sol's was still in Colorado. We don't know how far away the Trust took Vala, and there were five locations...therefore, I thought it would be feasible that if they'd started out very early Saturday morning to get there, Sol's could've been somewhere closer to the Pacific, which would have enabled them to get to the beach before the end of the weekend. I'm on the East Coast, and geography has never been my forte, so if that doesn't work for you, the series did go AU in the end, so who knows? Maybe in my universe, Colorado is a an island. Or something. We do want to see Danny and Vala sleep on the beach, don't we folks?
